Rock Band is an all-new platform for music fans and gamers to interact with music, similar to Guitar hero but also featuring voacals, bass and drums. The game challenges players to put together a band and tour for fame and fortune, mastering lead/bass guitar, drums and vocals. You can find out more about it at www.rockband.com. So who won? That'd be telling! Find out when the show is aired on Monday 26th May on Channel Five at 8pm. February 19th-happy birthday to Tony Iommi 60 Today! February 18th-5TH Anniversary gig at Potters! Booking for 2008 now, many gigs in the negotiation stage and those confirmed for the early part of the year are now online. There'll be a long overdue setlist revamp with some songs that have been requested live many times, and a new show for you all. We'll see you all out on the road and we love you all! October 1st-'Geezer Codeine'. I am very saddened to announce that former Sack Sabbath bassist Andy Dyson, known to you all as 'Geezer Codeine' tragically died of cancer on September 23rd leaving a wife and five children. My deepest sympathy to Cindy and family. Andy was in the very first lineup of Sack Sabbath and without him we would not be where we are today. You'll be sincerely missed mate, by all of us. September 3rd-Sack Sabbath play Sabbath roadie Les Martin's birthday bash. This weekend we played former Sabs roadie Les Martin's 60th birthday party near his home in Wales. September 2nd-Gig Change-Intake leisure now Oct 12th. The gig at Mansfield's Intake leisure has been changed from October 26 to October 12th June 25th-Tamworth gig and summer rest. Sack Sabbath to play Nottingham Rock City. We played the Assembly Rooms in Tamworth on Saturday double heading with the truly awesome Judas Beast from Newcastle. Great venue and crazy audience to round off the first half of 2007. We're off the road now till September 1st whilst we recharge batteries, take a well earned holiday, revamp the set with the songs we are always being asked for and work on ways to improve the show to bring you the ultimate Sabbath experience. We'll be making our debut appearance at Nottingham's legendary Rock City on Saturday Dec 8th, a venue that is part of every East Midlands rock fan's life. Advance tickets can be obtained from Rock City's box office on 0871 3100 000 or at this link June 10th-Paranoid not played!!!! Debut gig for Geezer 'I Can't believe it's not Butler' We played the Robin 2 in Bilston last night with our friends Fred Zeppelin and had the usual great turnout and response, perhaps the best we've had there with a brilliant singalong to war pigs.. This was the debut gig for new bassist Geezer 'I cant believe it's not Butler' and despite just four rehearsals he played a blinder. Shock news of the night, we were informed after our first encore of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath that we had to finish the set as time was running short and so we didnt play paranoid for only the second time ever. Picked up a great review from Johnno who attended the show-heres what he has to say Well, what can I say! Absolutely brilliant!!! "Fairies
Wear Boots" was superb, as were all the other classic Sabbath tracks
you performed! Well impressed! I hope to catch you again! Cheers mate! Watch a clip of 'NIB' here
May 14th-Rock for Eddie and Potters gigs We have just done two very well attended gigs. On 5th may we appeared at the MFN club, Shipley Gate, Derbyshire as part of 'Rock For Eddie', a charity gig raising funds for Edward Bright, a young lad who has tragically lost both arms and both legs to meningitis. The event attracted 520 people and an unbelievable £3,800 was raised. Sack Sabbath are very proud to have helped Eddie and his parents in this way. The week after we did our home gig at Potters in Langley Mill and had the usual great turnout and terrific response. Thanks to everyone who attended either gig. WE LOVE YOU ALL! April 27th-Crewe Limelight gig success! Played Crewe Limelight Club last night with stand in bassist Wayne 'Geezer's Butler' Banks after just three rehearsals. Wayne has played with metal luminaries such as Blaze Bayley, Sabbat and Godsend and also the mighty Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees(!) and delivered with the expertise you would expect from such a pedigree, earning us 2 encores. Wayne will be playing with us for the foreseeable future so come and check him out at a gig near you soon. April 12th-Geezer ill, Nuneaton show cancelled. Sadly Geezer's illness has got the better of him and he's been taken into hospital again which means that temporarily we will have to use a stand in bassist. We wont be able to do this in time for tomorrow's gig at Nuneaton Kingswood Tavern and so reluctantly we must cancel the show. Apologies to all affected. Hopefully this will not affect other gigs as we will have a stand in and we hope that Geezer will make a full recovery as soon as possible and resume his place in Sack Sabbath without delay. March 8th-Crewe Limelight gig to be rescheduled. Now April 26th! We'd like to apologise to all who were planning to see us at Crewe Limelight on Wednesday 14th March. We are very sorry for this cancellation but it was unavoidable as Geezer has had a pending hospital operation moved forward by 13 weeks. He has been suffering for some weeks but like the kind of man he is, he has soldiered on and not cancelled a single show this year despite constant severe pain, so as not to disappoint the fans who we owe it all to. Get well soon mate from all of your friends in Sack Sabbath. As soon as the new date is announced we'll post it up here. UPDATE-we will now perform Thursday 26th April. February 28th-Belgian gig a triumph! We have just played the Alcatraz concerts Monsters of rock festival at the Qubus in Oudenaarde, Belgium along with Eddie's Revenge, Metal Gods and Axxept. What can we say, it was an absolutely staggering experience to play for so many HM fans and to recieve such a reaction. Special mention must be made for the absolute professionalism of Filip from Alcatraz and the perfect organisation of the day and also for the kindness and hospitality of the other bands especially Metal Gods (thanks for the use of the cabs) and of the Belgian people. An absolutely fantastic experience for us all. We'll be posting photos and videos of the gig as soon s possible, in the meantime have a swatch at this clip of Children of the grave on youtube at this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBkJTtEe78U&mode=user&search= January 21st-Busy year ahead. All confirmed 2007 gigs now uploaded, many more to come. Lots of revisits to older venues, many first time gigs at new venues. December 13th-Classic Rock article appears! This months edition of 'Classic Rock' features us in 'Contrabrand-Britain's best tribute bands' section on page 20. Great shot of Ozzy taken by Steve Fisher and interview with me (Tony Iou). I'll be posting the whole interview on line soon. December 4th-Great gig at Potters and more 2007 shows added. Great show at Potters in Langley Mill Nottinghamshire on saturday, despite many other gigs happening in the area including Dragonforce at Nottingham Rock City we had a very full house of about 180 sabbath fans and if we say so ourselves, we played a blinder! 2007's diary continues to fill up, with shows just added at Tamworth and Rotherham, many more to come. It looks like 2007 will see us playing our biggest shows to date. T shirts are selling steadily with not too many of the vol 4 design left, if you want one dont hang around, they're £10 inc P and P if you buy off the site or £8 at gigs, details of how to buy below. October 30th-European monsters of rock festival now confirmed! We're pleased to announce we are now confirmed as appearing at the Belgian monsters of rock tribute festival in Oudenaarde, Belgium on 25 feb 2007. Also on the bill are tributes to Maiden, Priest and Accept, three of my favourite bands ever so we're really looking forward to this one-it's gonna be a monster. October 27th-Sack Sabbath to appear in Classic Rock! We'll be appearing in Classic Rock magazine in the 'Contrabrand-Britain's best tribute bands' section in the January issue. Thanks to Dave Ling for setting this up for us-we owe you one mate! The issue is on sale December 13th so look out for it. October 19th update on Sabbath/Zep double header Looking good for this one, lots of interest in whats looking like being a great night for fans of classic rock with us and Stoke's LED BALLOON at the Brit Boat Club right next to the Forest Ground. Tickets are just £7 and sure to sell out quickly so contact barry at this link . Sept 16th-Excellent venue. Just played Intake Leisure in Mansfield and we have to say what an excellent venue this is. Great PA, great facilities, cheap beer and it's run by Simon, a genuinely nice guy which is a rare thing in the music biz sometimes. Very warm welcome and great reception and we look forward to playing here again in the new year. August 17th-Gig changes and new set list! Hi all. Been a while since we last updated but with holidays etc theres not been much to report. However, we're back on the road on September 8th with a new gig at the excellent Rotherham United Suite, Masborough, in Rotherham. This gig replaces the show at the Dickens bar on 23rd September and is a belting venue with a 7K PA and is even air conditioned, what more can you ask? We're working on a new set list too with several additions to the existing list of classic sabs numbers, some of the new songs are sabs classics and some are more obscure album tracks for the hardcore devotee. May 21st-reports on Boat Club gig Played our home town of Nottingham's legendary Boat Club last night and a great night was had by all. Anyone into rock in Nottingham in the 70s and 80s has great memories of the Boat and it was truly an honour to tread the same boards as so many legendary rockers, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Motorhead, Deep Purple, Priest, Budgie, Trapeze, Rory Gallagher, Def Leppard, Ten Years After and just about anyone who was anyone has played here-including the real Black Sabbath of course way back in 1970. The interview with 'Luke' Lucas and Phil Myatt was great. Luke is a great raconteur, a very witty and obviously extremely intelligent bloke and totally devoid of rock biz bullshit. Some of his anecdotes were priceless (and unprintable) and the roars of approval at the end of the interview said it all. Thanks Luke and thanks to Mark Gubb who organised it all ,we'd love to do it again someday. Its always a great night for Sack Sabbath in our home city but we were surprised at just how many turned up and how mental they went. And for all the nutters at the front, we'll do 'Supernaut' for you next time, promise! Steve Fisher has taken some truly awesome photos of the event and has given kind permission for us to use them on our site, in the meantime you can check out the full gallery here at Steve's site. If you were there, thanks, you were brilliant and WE LOVE YOU ALL! May 5th-Special gig announced! Saturday 20th May at Nottingham Boat Club theres a special gig. The Real Rock Archive presents an evening of music and conversation featuring interviews with 'Luke' Lucas, Sabbath's tour manager 1968-76, Phil Myatt who ran Mothers in Birmingham where the sabs played in the early days, plus a full set from Sack Sabbath. How good is that? Be prepared for some class anecdotes about sabbath, we've met Luke before and he's a great bloke with a great sense of humour. Its just £5 to get into what looks like being a top night, you can reserve tickets by contacting us at the below address and phone number. Dont hang about as they are sure to sell out fast. |

Thanks a million to Tom and all the guys who made it such a great night for Sack Sabbath. We're promised the video footage from the gig and when it arrives it will be posted for all to enjoy.
